Rick Harrison
Since performing on the Insomniac show with Dave Attell in 2003, Harrison has spent four years proposing the idea of making a pawnshop, but his efforts have not been successful. In 2008, Brent Montgomery and Colby Gaines of Leftfield Pictures came up with an idea for a reality show based on a Las Vegas pawn shop and got in touch with Harrison. The series was originally put on HBO. Although the network prefers the series, it is a “Taxicab Confessions” series that took place on the night window of Gold & Silver.
In January 2011, “Pawn Star” was the highest-rated show on the History Channel and the second-highest-rated reality show after the Jersey Shore. On June 7, 2011, Harrison published a biography titled “Pawn Permit: Trading, Stealing, and My Life in Gold and Silver.” His book was ranked 22nd on the New York Times bestseller list on June 26, 2011. In January 2014, Harrison became the spokesperson of Micro Touch One Razor, a personal care shaving product for men.
